Doug loves his Tee-PJ nightshirt, or as he likes to call it, his manatee. He ordered it from one of those ads in the back of the New Yorker. (I'm more of a tropical print muumuu girl myself.) Now they send us the catalog in the mail.
I'm sure you're not at all surprised to know that the manatees come in XXXL for ladies and men who are up to 300 lbs. 
But ever heard of the diabetic sock? I had to put the Ben & Jerry's back in the freezer when I saw this. You know there's an epidemic when you can order illness-related clothing from a mail-order catalog.
Don't knock the diabetes sock! They promote normal circulation and prevent blood/lymph from gathering in your foot. My friend at med school actually witnessed an operation where they had to amputate a guy's foot due to the gangrene caused by improper circulation. She said the guy's foot looked exactly like Adam Sandler's black foot from Mr. Deeds.
totally not knocking the sock. just lamenting the fact that diabetes is so common that you can buy clothing for it from a pajama company. diabetes runs in my family, and sometimes i fear my gluttony will catch up with me.
