The problem with joining this guy's refried crusade is that we got a Taco Smell in Sunset Park and I don't want it.
The last time I ate Taco Smell was from a drive-thru in Baltimore after a gig. (No 24 hour Korean joints in Charm City.) I was discussing (over a 7-layer burrito) with a vegan (bean burrito sin queso) the merits of the deliciously salty, tart mild sauce. And then I was hungry again 15 minutes after I finished my burrito.
Some Brooklyn Taco Smell/Dunkin Donuts combos are open 24 hours, but only drive thru really late. I've been told that in the madrugada hours, you can sometimes find drunk folk standing on line between cars, leaning down to place their orders into the squawk box. And no, I don't know this from personal experience.

sorry. i'm de-lurking. i've only tried the drive-through at mcD's in brooklyn, but sometimes they won't let you "walk-through" the "drive-through" (which, is difficult when you are trying to sober up & really really "need" a mickey Ds value meal). i've only been guilty of making taxi drivers drive-through (gulp...)... but i've seen people on line & it tends to be hit or miss (depending on who's working, perhaps?)
ps hope you dont mind i linked back to your restaurant review.
I've done the walk-through on several occasions at the McD's on Fourth Ave. b/n Garfield and 1st Street in Brooklyn (far west edge of Park Slope). It's right around the corner from my apartment and is one of the only cheap open-late places around me. But, uh, then I saw all the rats running around the parking lot there. Stay away from that McD's, walk-through, drive-through, or walk-in.
link away, little mackerel.
the walk-thru needs some kind of "walk of shame" moniker. any suggestions?
Hey I tried to do an in-line skate-through in Canada at a McDs and they wouldn't let me. I've heard from other failed walk-throughers that they refuse non-cars due to "safety" reasons. Does that make sense to anyone? I don't really get it.
Yes, it needs a moniker!
When I lived in Williamsburg, we'd hit the White Castle drive-thru at Bushwick and Metropolitan in the wee hours. While you were on line there'd be a cavalcade of homeless folks using you as a captive panhandling audience. All I want is a chicken w/ cheese and some fries....
Ah. Safety reasons. If some "walk-thru" becomes a "drive-over" McD's probably doesn't want the blame.
I haven't had Taco Bell in AGES, but I did buy some weed in a Taco Bell drive through in Kansas City around ten years ago.
weed and tacos, like pb&j i imagine...
this Korean place and a few others are open 'til 4am in B-more
